Kane ‘will never trust’ Levy again after Tottenham reveal from talkSPORT – Campbell

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy broke a gentleman’s agreement to keep Harry Kane at the club this summer.

That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Kane’s recent comments about his failed exit from the north London club.

The 28-year-old was the subject of two rejected bids in excess of £100million from Premier League champions Manchester City this summer.

Kane has been widely criticised for attempting to manufacture a move away from Spurs when he still has three years remaining on his contract.

However, Kane told talkSPORT on Tuesday he is looking forward to the new season with Tottenham with a ‘clear conscience’ after this summer’s events.

Campbell believes Kane’s conscience is clear because Levy broke promises to prevent losing the England captain.

“Come on, 100 per cent that is the case,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs. “There is no doubt about it.

“Harry Kane is there because the move got blocked.

“He will play and perform for Spurs but everybody knows that Daniel Levy has gone against his word. Harry Kane will never trust him again, never. That is going to be the issues moving forward, there will be no trust.”

Speaking on the matter, Kane told talkSPORT: “I think anyone involved in the football industry knows the ins and outs.

“I was quite calm with the situation, but when you’re in it and you know the truth, then your conscience is clear.”
