Kaoru Mitoma tipped to join Chelsea after ‘massive offer’ submitted

Chelsea are set for another summer spending spree in the upcoming transfer window as the club aims to financially back Enzo Maresca.

It has been a revolving door of players at Stamford Bridge ever since Roman Abramovich sold the club, with the Blues desperately looking to get back to being a team capable of challenging for the Premier League title.

Maresca’s side are currently sixth in the Premier League table and a point adrift of Champions League places, while they have been knocked out of both domestic cup competitions.

Industry insider Mick Brown exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Chelsea are prioritising a centre-back in the summer transfer window.

Football Insider revealed that Chelsea are interested in signing Murillo, and that hasn’t changed after Nottingham Forest rejected a move for him in the January transfer window.

However, the Blues will also be looking to bolster their attacking options once the summer transfer window opens.

Chelsea will look to sign Kaoru Mitoma in the summer

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Football Insider journalist Connor Humm revealed Brighton are “wanting a lot” for Kaoru Mitoma, who the Blues have an interest in.

“You look what they’ve spent since they’ve come in, they find every loophole possible. I don’t know, offer like [a] bag of Skittles and a £10 billion in 10 years time, they’ll probably accept that,” Humm told Football Insider.

“Brighton, they just churn out, they bring these foreign players in and they just churn them out 100 million times.

“With Chelsea’s record of signing Brighton players, you’ve got Cucurella, Sanchez, Caiceido, the list goes on.

“It depends on their PSR issue.

“A lot of people forget about the UEFA FFP as well separate to PSR.

“I can see him moving from Brighton if he doesn’t sign a new deal, but they’re wanting a lot.

“I said, they turned down a massive deal from Saudi.”

Kaoru Mitoma is Premier League proven and a ‘massive’ offer has been tabled

The 27-year-old has been playing in the Premier League since joining Brighton in 2027, and he has adapted to English football and proven he’s capable of performing at this level.

It would make the transfer slightly less risky on Chelsea’s behalf as the Japan international has showcased his ability to cause teams problems in this division.
