Karou Mitoma is ‘ready to play for Liverpool’
Liverpool are plotting a move to sign Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma as Arne Slot aims to strengthen his attacking options this summer.
Speculation has been rife about a number of their current attacking options, and work has begun behind the scenes to identify potential replacements.
Football Insider revealed on 12 April that Liverpool are planning for a busy transfer window and will sign a new forward after allowing Darwin Nunez to leave.
Meanwhile, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Mitoma, 27, is “ready to sign for Liverpool” and would be able to make the step up.
The Brighton winger has also attracted interest from Chelsea and there is a growing belief he could be set to leave the Seagulls in the summer window.

Liverpool eye Kaoru Mitoma deal as two players could leave
Robinson previously told Football Insider that Luis Diaz and Nunez could quit Liverpool this summer as Slot aims to overhaul his attacking options.
Meanwhile, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Slot wants to sign a world-class forward to replace their exit-linked stars.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that the potential departures of Diaz and Cody Gakpo could free up space for the Brighton winger to make the move to Anfield.
“I don’t see where he plays in that Liverpool team,” he told Football Insider.
“If you keep the forward line, you have Diaz, Jota, Salah and then you’ve got Cody Gakpo as well although he’s maybe not kicked on as much as he should.
“If a player like Gakpo was to leave, Mitoma would be a good fit.
“If you’ve got Diaz and Gakpo who can both operate on the left-hand side, he’s not really needed.
“To go and pay the amount of money Brighton will want to bring Mitoma into the side… There are other areas in that squad which Slot wants to strengthen first.
“But if players are to leave, he’s certainly ready to play for Liverpool, he’s of that quality.”

Arne Slot plots Luis Diaz talks after transfer latest
As Liverpool continue to work behind the scenes to identify options as Slot plans an attacking overhaul this summer, a number of first-team stars could leave.
Football Insider revealed on 18 April that Liverpool are set to hold talks with Diaz about his long-term future at Anfield.
The 28-year-old has attracted interest from a number of Saudi Pro League sides as well as Barcelona and could be allowed to make a move when the window opens.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Liverpool will listen to £60million offers for Diaz, which would represent profit on the £50million spent to sign him in 2022.
