Karren Brady called this West Ham transfer completely wrong - report
By Harry Sykes
West Ham have been left with egg on their faces after Karren Brady called the Dimitri Payet situation incorrectly, according to a report.
The Sun claim the Hammers vice chairman was convinced that no clubs would be willing to pay big money to sign Payet in the January window.
But that has proved not to be the case after Bilic delivered the bombshell news on Thursday that the club’s star player has asked to leave this month and is refusing to play.
West Ham are adamant that Payet will not be sold during the January window but the club have been left to clear up a huge mess 11 months after handing the 29-year-old a five-year contract that made him the best paid player in the club’s history.

“He wants out, something West Ham have been aware of ever since he gave an interview in November suggesting he had bigger fish to fry,” the Sun report states. “Karren Brady was confident that he had nowhere to go. In any event, she made it clear he would not be sold.
“At 29, with a fat new contract in the bag, Brady believed nobody would really come in for Payet in January. She called that wrong.”
Reports also emerged on Friday that Chelsea could join the race to sign the France international as they aim to beef up their squad for their title challenge in the second half of the campaign.
Payet has told Bilic that he wants to quit and will never a kick a ball again for the club if he does not get the transfer he desires in the January window.
Payet’s actions have prompted a barrage of criticism from West Ham supporters, who are appalled that the reigning Hammer of the Year would go to such extent to push for a transfer midway through the season.
