West Ham United vice-chairwomen Karren Brady has delivered a one word verdict on the new value of Tottenham striker Harry Kane by claiming that he is “priceless”.
The 23-year-old English international produced his best performance of the season in midweek as he scored four goals in Tottenham’s emphatic 6-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
The goals allowed Kane to leapfrog Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot as the Spurs forward has now scored 26 league goals, two more than the Belgian forward.
Since breaking onto the Premier League scene at the beginning of the 2014/15 campaign, Kane has now scored 20 Premier League goals or more in three consecutive seasons at White Hart Lane.
Writing in her column for the Sun, Brady was talking about Liverpool’s potential transfer activity in the summer and mentioned that there are some players who simply cannot be replaced and Kane was mentioned in this category.
“At the top level you can buy as many good players as you like — but they will never be as influential as a couple of very good ones,” she said.
“How could Klopp ever replace a man of the character and talents of Philippe Coutinho, our destroyer today?
“Or Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, or Spurs’ Harry Kane? In a way, all of them are priceless.”
Kane is likely to be part of the Tottenham squad that travels to the KCOM Stadium to take on Hull City on the final day of the season and he’ll want to get on the scoresheet once again to secure his second consecutive Premier League Golden Boot.
