Karren Brady claims that West Ham striker Andy Carroll is fitter than she has ever seen him.
The 28-year-old has been extremely unfortunate with a spate of injuries during his career, but is currently in a purple patch of form for the Hammers.
The Englishman has scored four goals in his last four Premier League games, including a goal of the season contender for his bicycle kick against Crystal Palace.
However, Carroll was forced off early in the recent 3-1 win against Southampton and manager Slaven Bilic admitted he will make a late decision on his fitness for the West Brom clash on Saturday.
West Ham vice chairman Brady has praised the form of forward Carroll and stated he has never looked fitter.
“Our return to form (except against Man City) coincides with the departure of Dimitri Payet and a rush of goals by Andy Carroll,” Brady wrote in her column for the Sun. “Andy’s leaner and fitter than I’ve ever seen him. His equaliser sets up win over Southampton.”
Carroll will be hoping to overcome his fitness doubt for the mid-table clash against West Brom as he has become a crucial player for West Ham this season.
The target man has scored six goals in 12 appearances this campaign and has managed to recover from his latest knee injury.
Carroll’s recent form has seen a number of supporters demand he earns a recall to the England side, despite not featuring for the national team since 2012.
The Daily Mail claim that England manager Gareth Southgate will be in attendance for West Ham’s game against West Brom to watch Carroll and his team-mate Michail Antonio.
