Kasper Schmeichel sends message to Celtic fans ahead of showdown
Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is raring to go as the club takes on RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday (November 5).
Schmeichel, who turns 38 today, has been pivotal for the Scottish champions since joining on a free transfer in the summer transfer window.
With eight clean sheets and just three goals conceded in 10 Scottish Premier League games so far, the veteran shot-stopper is leading Celtic’s title charge from the back.
Aberdeen remain hot on their tails, however, but an impressive 6-0 League Cup win on Saturday (November 2) well and truly put Jimmy Thelin’s side back in their place.

It’s been a mixed Champions League campaign for Brendan Rodgers’ side; their comprehensive 5-0 opening game win over Slovan Bratislava was quickly overshadowed by a heavy 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the following round.
Still, a 0-0 away draw with Atalanta has kept their hope of reaching the next round intact, and Schmeichel has taken to Instagram to let fans know there is nowhere he’d rather be.

With four points from their opening three games, Celtic are currently placed in 20th in the Champions League’s new league phase format.
It’s unclear exactly how many points they will need to secure qualification to the next round but with upcoming games against Club Brugge, Dinamo Zagreb, and Young Boys, they will fancy their chances.
