Kasper Schmeichel sends ‘perfect’ message to Celtic fans after latest

Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel took to social media to celebrate a “Perfect night” after their comprehensive 6-0 Scottish Premier League win over Dundee FC on Wednesday (February 5).

The 38-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Celtic won their game in hand to go a massive 13 points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premier League.

Arne Engels opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 18th minute after a scuffle in the box during a corner before Adam Idah continued his impressive form, doubling their lead just before half-time.

One Sky Sports pundit believes Arsenal should take a look at Idah as a potential alternative to Ollie Watkins due to his recent form.

Japan international Daizen Maeda scored a brace in four minutes, the first being a diving header and the second a cheeky lob over Trevor Carson in the opposition goal.

Engels then secured his brace before in-form winger Nicolas Kuhn rounded off the scoring in the 81st minute as Celtic march towards yet another league title.

Kasper Schmeichel has incredible stats for Celtic this season

The goalkeeper has been key since joining in the summer, starting all 38 of his games across all competitions, conceding 33 goals, and keeping 22 clean sheets in his 3450 minutes of action.

Celtic are pulling away both on and off the pitch, and are set to blow Rangers out of the water in terms of European prize money this season after qualifying for the Champions League knockout round play-offs.

Schmeichel took to Instagram after their comprehensive league win over Dundee FC to celebrate, saying: “Perfect night. Proper performance.”

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aberdeen chief Keith Wyness believed Rodgers is unhappy with Celtic’s January business and has already put his plans for the summer to the board despite their remarkable season so far.

Celtic were able to re-sign Jota and bring Jeffrey Schlupp in on loan from Crystal Palace, a move that caught the attention of Man City ace Jack Grealish.
