
Kasper Schmeichel sends seven-word message to Celtic fans
Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has taken to social media to celebrate a “A chilly but good night at home” after their 2-0 win over Dundee United on Wednesday (January 8).
The 38-year-old played the full 90 minutes, ending the game having made three saves, 16/19 accurate passes, and seven recoveries.
Japan international Daizen Maeda opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a close-range effort after Luke McCowan’s initial shot was parried directly into his path.
Substitute Reo Hatate came off the bench to round off the scoring, securing all three points for Brendan Rodgers’ as they march towards a fourth consecutive league title.
Kasper Schmeichel leading by example as Celtic extend their lead at the top
Celtic’s win over Dundee United takes them 16 points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premier League table.
Delighted with the win, Schmeichel took to Instagram to celebrate the win over Dundee United, saying: “A chilly but good night at home.”

Schmeichel has been key for Celtic since joining in the summer, starting all 31 of his games across all competitions, conceding 23 goals, and keeping 20 clean sheets in his 2820 minutes of action.
Celtic will travel to tenth-place Ross County for their next Scottish Premier League game on Saturday (January 11) in what should be another routine win for the Glasgow giants.
