Kasper Schmeichel shares three-word pre-showdown update at Celtic
Kasper Schmeichel has shared an update on social media as Celtic continue their pre-season ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The Hoops have already beaten Queen’s Park and Cork City in recent weeks, looking to enter into the new season on good form in the hopes of lifting a 56th Scottish Premiership title.
After last season, Brendan Rodgers will also be desperate to push his team forward, having reached the Champions League round of 32 before a heartbreaking aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich.
Business has already started at Celtic Park, with Kieran Tierney, Benjamin Nygren, Callum Osmand, and Ross Doohan to the squad, and the latter is likely to battle Schmeichel for the No.1 spot next season.

With that in mind, the 38-year-old appears to be pushing himself to the limit as the Hoops prepare to face Portuguese giants Sporting CP next on Wednesday, 16 July.
Taking to Instagram stories (10 July), Schmeichel wrote: “Back at it,” with flexed muscle and four-leaf clover emojis, with Rodgers’ side preparing for their pre-season games.

Brendan Rodgers to push for more success at Celtic Park
Football Insider verdict
It has become very clear just how far ahead the Hoops are than their Old Firm rivals, Rangers, in the Scottish Premiership title race, having won the league last season by 17 points.
The Light Blues have now secured a takeover, which could even up the playing fields heading into the new season, but it is also glaringly obvious how much work needs to be done at Ibrox.
On the other hand, at Celtic Park, Rodgers will be desperate for heavy investment in the squad, with Football Insider understanding that Rodgers could quit Celtic if his wishes are not met.

Football Insider also understands that Premier League clubs will have to pay £25million for Daizen Maeda, with Brentford, Tottenham, and West Ham all interested in the Japan international.
That would likely be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for the manager, especially after the club failed to replace the outgoing Kyogo Furuhashi during the winter transfer window.
Fans were heartbroken to see the Northern Irishman leave for Leicester City in 2019, and with some fears cropping up again, the boardroom needs to give him exactly what he wants over the coming weeks.
