Keith Wyness has stated that his phone is still “hot” in regards to deadline day deals for Aston Villa.
The Championship outfit have completed six transfers during the January window and most recently the purchase of Bury defender Jacob Bedeau on deadline day.
The 17-year-old follows in the footsteps of on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone who was the first to arrive this month.
He was joined by Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury, Icelandic international Birkir Bjarnason and Barnsley duo James Bree and Conor Hourihane.
These signings could be followed by Brentford striker Scott Hogan and Swansea left-back Neil Taylor who are reportedly close to joining the club.
As the deadline day nears it ends, the club’s chief executive Keith Wyness had this message to supporters as posted on his personal Twitter account.
“Just stopped for a quick breather,” said Wyness. “Last lap coming up, my phone is still hot.”

These deals follow the nine transfers made by Steve Bruce’s predecessor, Roberto Di Matteo in the summer.
Two of the signings made by the Italian, goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini and midfielder Aaron Tshibola have gone out on loan.
Meanwhile, £12million striker Ross McCormack has been demoted to the under-23s for being unfit, Tommy Elphick has seen his game time reduced and Ritchie de Laet is out for the season.
The others, James Chester, Mile Jedinak, Jonathan Kodjia and Albert Adomah are established first team players.
