Keith Wyness drops Tottenham manager bombshell

Tottenham are not guaranteed to remain in the Premier League and could face relegation to the Championship with another manager sent packing.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who states Igor Tudor has a “tough” job on his hands at Spurs.

Tudor takes over as interim manager at Spurs following the sacking of Thomas Frank with 12 Premier League matches left to play.

Spurs are five points above 18th-placed West Ham in the table, and Tudor’s first game in charge is a north London derby against league leaders Arsenal.

‘Not a nailed on certainty Tottenham stay up’

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks nerves could increase at Spurs if there poor form continues.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness is backing Spurs to stay up, but states it is not a guarantee.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I don’t think Tudor will last longer than the season. And by the way, he better keep them up. You know, this is going to be a tough one.

“So the Croatian Sam Allardyce better get his fireman’s hat on and do the job because it’s not an easy one. And a bad run, three or four losses on the go could really put some jitters around the new big stadium at Spurs.

“So it’s not a nailed on certainty they’re going to be staying up. Although I think they are probably odds on to do that. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility they can get dragged in. One team normally does get dragged in towards the end of the season, and it could be Spurs.”

Spurs face huge games in relegation battle

The 40 point mark has often been used as a target for Premier League survival, and Spurs are currently 11 points off that total.

Tudor has no time to waste in picking up points in his first ever managerial role in the Premier League, with some crucial games to come between now and the end of the season.

Spurs will be targeting points at home to lowly Crystal Palace and Leeds, whilst they are also yet to visit bottom club Wolves.
