Keith Wyness drops two-word verdict on Tottenham agreeing Crysencio Summerville deal
West Ham’s renewed hope of Premier League survival mean they will not be looking to sell any key players late in the January window.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, after Tottenham made an approach to sign Crysencio Summerville.
The approach came just days after Summerville had scored against Spurs in a 2-1 win for West Ham.
Summerville could be worth up to £25million to West Ham, but the London club have not made any indications that they want to sell the forward.
‘No chance’ Crysencio Summerville leaves West Ham
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes a deal for Summerville is a non-starter for Spurs.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks West Ham believe they can still maintain their Premier League status despite being five points adrift of safety.
Asked for his instant verdict, he told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “No chance.
“I don’t think there’s any chance of that happening. I think they’ve now decided that they’ve got a chance. They saw that table change. I think they all thought that, you know, if Forest had lost as well, that was going to be a big thing for them, but Forest didn’t.
“So there’s still that gap. But still, it’s given West Ham renewed hope and belief and the last thing they want to do is sell Summerville. So I don’t think that will happen at all, and I think it’s mischief from the media again on that one, so I’m calling that one out.”

West Ham leading race for striker
West Ham have become the favourites to sign Troy Parrott, who still remains wanted by a number of Premier League clubs.
Parrott has remained put at AZ Alkmaar in January, but the 23-year-old’s impressive goal-scoring record this season may mean he does not stay in the Netherlands for much longer.
The former Spurs player has netted 20 times in 27 appearances for the Dutch club in all competitions this season.
