Keith Wyness drops verdict on Nick Woltemade leaving Newcastle as giants circle
Nick Woltemade is already being linked with a Newcastle United exit just months after making the move to St James’ Park.
Woltemade completed a £69million move from Stuttgart over the summer and has quickly settled into life in the north east.
The German international has already scored four Premier League goals this season, and has found the net six times across all competitions.
However, his exploits in front of goal have caught the attention of big clubs around Europe, who are planning to move for the striker in the future.

Nick Woltemade told to reject Newcastle exit
Woltemade has been linked with Bayern Munich over the past few weeks, with his form impressing Vincent Kompany’s side.
However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – doesn’t believe that the 23-year-old will be leaving Newcastle anytime in the near future.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Woltemade should focus on where he is at the moment and remain faithful to the Magpies.
Wyness added that if he regularly scores 20 goals a season, then he might achieve a move to one of the top German clubs.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: He’s got to be consistent. It’s only early in the season, so he’s got to show us that he can really do it over a period of time.
“He needs to get 15 to 20 goals to really make that mark. And even then, I think another season on Tyneside would be more likely. So I don’t see it happening anytime soon.
“I think he should just focus on where he is and keep the Toon faithful happy because I like him. I like his style. He’s certainly ungainly. He’s got some lovely little flicks. We saw that lovely back heel goal. It’s great.
“I don’t see him going to Bayern Munich or going back to Germany in the near future. I’d say we’ve got to keep him focused on scoring 15 or 20 a season. Then he might be considered by one of the bigger German clubs.”
Newcastle set for January spending spree
Meanwhile, Newcastle have significant profit and sustainability (PSR) capacity to sign players in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Newcastle have been close to breaching the PSR rules in recent times, with Premier League clubs only permitted to lose £105m over a rolling three-year period.
The situation was more comfortable in the latest window though, with the north-east giants less restrained by their finances compared to last year.
Now, sources have told Football Insider Newcastle have plenty of PSR capacity to improve their squad in the mid-season window and don’t need to fear breaching the spending rules.
