Keith Wyness: Everton to agree naming rights deal soon – ‘I’m very confident’
Everton will welcome fans to their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium for the first time in a test event later this month (17 February).
The event is one of three before Everton Stadium opens fully for the 2025-26 campaign, but the Toffees are yet to secure a naming rights deal for their state-of-the-art new home.
Football Insider has previously been told that any deal should be worth around £150million to Everton over 10 years.
The Toffees have recieved offers to sponsor the stadium, which cost £800million to build despite construction being projected to cost around £500million.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has had his say on where negotiations are.
Everton Stadium naming rights update from top source
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the top Everton source insisted only “severe issues” would prevent a deal being in place for next season.
He has previously told Football Insider that Qatar Airways would be a “quality advertiser” for Everton – after they were announced as the principal partner for Euro 2028, which will be hosted in the UK and Ireland.
Wyness insisted “the only issue” could be the stadium’s location in Liverpool as the local audience is smaller than a similar stadium in London.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I’d be amazed if there’s not someone in place before the start of next season.
“That won’t happen.
“I’m very confident there will be someone in place. If not, that would mean severe issues and some reasons I’m not aware of.
“This is a great opportunity for someone to come forward.
“The only issue is that this is Liverpool, not London. The size of the local audience is smaller, but the quality of the stadium speaks for itself.
“When you see it lit up for night games, it’s going to be one of those iconic situations.
“We’re going to see a sponsor in well before the start of the season in August.”

Dan Friedkin backed to bankroll £200m of Everton signings
Wyness has previously told Football Insider that Everton could spend £50million on four players this summer- £200million in total – thanks to increased revenue from the stadium.
David Moyes’ side made just one January addition, bringing Carlos Alcaraz to the club on loan from Brazilian giants Flamengo.
Everton sit 16th in the Premier League table but have pulled nine points clear of the relegation zone after three consecutive top-flight wins.
