Keith Wyness: Man City titles could be ‘revisited’ after 115 charges latest – bombshell verdict
Man City’s 115 charges case will continue to drag on with a conclusion on the matter yet to be reached.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who states it is “unacceptable” that the case has not been resolved.
Man City were dealt charges by the Premier League in February 2023 for allegedly breaching financial fair play (FFP) rules over a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018.
There is no time frame over when a verdict will be reached on the case, with Man City continuing to deny that they breached financial rules.
Man City case will keep ‘dragging on’
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – is confused over why a verdict has yet to be reached on the case.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes the credibility of the Premier League is being tarnished.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It is unacceptable, you know, and it’s not just Man City having the cloud over them, it’s the whole Premier League, the racking up of legal bills that keep on going up and up and up.
“We’re in the tens of millions of money being spent and to have the world’s most respected league in some sense, having this sort of issue hanging around it is just really not good. I mean, they’re talking about the judges not having made a decision yet.
“It’s dragged on as we know for so long. I don’t understand, apart from them having other obligations, why it would take so long. It just seems strange and there’s guaranteed to be some sort of appeal process as well. So this is going to drag on and all this time it’s been dragging on.
“Man City have either been winning titles, football history has been written, will that have to be revisited at some stage? I mean it’s so wrong in terms of the credibility of the competition.”

Man City backed by huge cash injection
Man City’s ownership have injected £60million into their multi-club model, in a sign of continued financial backing.
The injection of funds will help Man City finance the expansion of Etihad Stadium, with the ground set to increase to become a 60,000 seater venue.
The move will increase Man City’s matchday revenue further, with many Premier League clubs also undergoing stadium expansion work.
