Keith Wyness shares ‘big’ Everton claim after ‘talks’ behind the scenes
England Women could play all their fixtures at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium in the future instead of Wembley Stadium.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes the new state-of-the-art stadium could start hosting more events in the near future.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium could host matches at the 2035 Women’s World Cup, after the UK submitted a bid to host the tournament.
Everton moved to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, with the ground able to host over 52,000 spectators.
Everton could become home of England Women’s team
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks there are still a couple of issues for the stadium to overcome.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes the local economy could be significantly boosted by more events being put on at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “We had the Rugby League Ashes as an extra event. Things are settling in now at the football side. A lot of the teething problems are starting to get fixed out.
“They’ve got to get some of the transportation issues, still a teething problem to be sorted out. But overall, I think we’re all heading in the right direction. And yes, that local economic impact will be big.
“And there’s been talk about the stadium also becoming the HQ of the English women’s football team, which would be interesting if they were to play all their main games there as well. So there’s a lot of talk going on, but everybody seems to appreciate that the facility is a football facility is excellent.”

Everton set for Euro hosting duties
Everton will host matches at Men’s Euro 2028, which will be another revenue stream for the club which has come about because of the new stadium.
The greater exposure Everton will get may also have some future benefits, with millions set to watch and travel to the tournament.
Everton may also be able to increase their exposure on the pitch this season if they can break into the European spots.
David Moyes’ side have won four of their past five Premier League games, and currently sit just two points off the Champions League places.
