Keith Wyness shares Everton ‘concern’ as new arrivals head in
Everton owners The Friedkin Group (TFG) have overseen a wave of changes since taking over from Farhad Moshiri in December.
The Merseyside giants have all but secured their Premier League status this season following the appointment of David Moyes earlier this year.
Angus Kinnear, who has spent eight years with Leeds United, has been drafted in as the club’s new CEO, effective from June.
It was also confirmed earlier this month Aaron Duckmanton is joining as chief marketing and digital officer and Simon Hunter is coming in as chief stadium commercial officer.
Meanwhile, owner Dan Friedkin has now been appointed as a director alongside Eric Williamson, who has worked in various leadership roles at TFG across the past 35 years.
Fellow TFG staff Marc Watts and Analaura Moreira-Dunkel were appointed to the Everton board in December, joining pre-existing members Colin Chong and Katie Charles.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – admitted it’s a “concern” there isn’t much footballing knowledge among the new appointments.
Wyness previously told Football Insider Friedkin is set to become Everton chairman following his appointment as a director.
The American billionaire also owns Gulf States Toyota, Serie A giants Roma and other entertainment and hospitality businesses.

Everton issue emerges after Roma reveal
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the Everton board members have only experienced issues at one club.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “My concern would be not so much of what they’ve done, whatever’s happened at Roma, but it’s that there isn’t a general knowledge of many different types of problems that can occur in football.
“If all they’ve learned are the problems that happened at Roma, that’s only one set of issues.
“But there are so many things around football clubs that can go wrong.
“I think you need a broader perspective and not just rely on the experience of one particular club’s story.”

Everton well placed to agree Tom Fellows deal
Football Insider revealed on 21 March Everton are well placed to agree a deal for Tom Fellows after he’s impressed at West Brom.
An agreement had been reached with the 21-year-old on transfer deadline day at the end of the January window, but the two clubs were unable to finalise a fee.
Appearances (Starts) | 38 (30) |

Football Insider revealed on 7 February Everton are planning to return for Fellows when they are in a better financial position to meet a higher asking price.
The England Under-21 international has registered two goals and 11 assists in 38 appearances for the Championship promotion contenders this season.
