Keith Wyness shares two-word Calvert-Lewin verdict after Everton contract latest
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could end his nine-year association with Everton next month when his contract expires.
The striker, 28, has recently spoken out to reveal that he is open to extending his stay on Merseyside – with the Toffees set to move into their new Bramley Moore Dock stadium next term.
He told the BBC (2 May): “With the new manager coming in the club is moving in the right direction, there’s a new stadium and there’s a lot to be positive about. Who wouldn’t want to be part of that?”
Calvert-Lewin has played just 23 times this season and has recently returned from a long hamstring injury layoff.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has insisted the former England international has “no chance” of landing a pay increase at Everton.

Calvert-Lewin must accept ‘heavily bonus-related’ Everton deal, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed any new contract for Calvert-Lewin will have to be “heavily bonus-related”.
He has hit three goals and notched two assists in 23 Premier League appearances this term, starting in 19 of those outings.
Wyness claimed Calvert-Lewin will be relegated to a back-up striker role if he stays at Everton.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think there’s no chance now of him getting a pay increase.
“Any contract Calvert-Lewin signs will be heavily bonus-related in terms of his performance on the pitch.
“I think that’s fair enough considering his record with fitness.
“I like him, he’s done some great things in an Everton shirt. With the right service, he’s a quality centre-forward.
“But I don’t think he’s in the correct position to get this new contract.
“His name is not cropping up elsewhere as it did a year ago. He’s in a position where his agent could get him a move – but there won’t be any big pay increase.
“If he stays at Everton, it’ll be more bonus-related. He’ll also be on the bench, behind a new striker who should be incoming this summer.”

Everton open talks over Gueye deal
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed last week (28 April) that Everton are in talks with midfielder Idrissa Gueye over a new contract.
The 35-year-old’s current deal is set to expire in June – but sources say the Toffees are expected to extend the midfielder’s stay at the club.
Gueye has been ever-present since David Moyes‘ return to Everton earlier this year.
