Kenny tells Everton fans to back Benitez as ‘nasty’ scenes slammed
Everton fans must back Rafa Benitez as he attempts to steer his side through a tough run of games.
That’s according to former Leeds stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ next move.
Benitez and the board were slammed by fans during Wednesday’s (1 December) 4-1 loss to Liverpool.

This result extended Everton’s winless run in the Premier League to eight games.
On Saturday (4 December), The Mirror claimed Benitez still has the backing of owner Farhad Moshiri after crisis talks were held.
Kenny insists Everton fans should get behind their manager as the club face Arsenal and Chelsea in their next three games.
“Everton fans have a lot of reasons to be disappointed at the moment, it was a bit nasty the other night,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They were given another one after the match. When it comes to Rafa, I think he has time.
“There are hard games coming up and if he manages to win them, everything is looking rosy again.
“The real issue is Everton are down there aren’t they? They won’t go down.
“But a club the size of Everton can’t even be in the conversation for relegation.
“It’s just not acceptable. We’ll see what happens. I don’t think it’s out of the question Everton win some of these games.
“Obviously, if they are still down there in a few weeks, something will have to be done.
“Until then you have to back the manager. That can have a really positive effect.”

Everton face Arsenal at Goodison Park on Monday (6 December).
The Gunners have lost their last two away games 4-0 to LIverpool and 3-2 to Manchester United.
