Kenny ‘wowed’ by Reo Hatate and makes ‘absolutely brilliant’ Celtic claim
Reo Hatate is already one of the best players at Celtic after making an incredible start to life at Parkhead.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after being blown away by the midfielder’s performance against Rangers.
As quoted by Sky Sports on Wednesday (2 February), Ange Postecoglou praised Hatate but revealed he is “nowhere near the levels of fitness that are required”.
Despite this, the midfielder has made a blistering start to life in Glasgow with three goals in four games.
All three have come from outside the box and two of them came in Wednesday’s (2 February) 3-0 win over Rangers.
Kenny was blown away as Hatate already looks acclimatised to Scottish Football despite being at the club for barely a month.
“Oh wow, what a start,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I watched him and he was absolutely brilliant. To score two goals like that against Rangers, what a signing.
“Postecoglou has done it again. He already looks like one of their best players.
“He has never looked out of place and he’s never been anywhere near Scotland.
“You just can’t wait to see if he carries this on now and becomes a proper goalscoring midfielder.
“Just, wow, I mean, what more can you say? He will be a big player for them now and wi, I’m sure.”

Hatate joined Celtic from Kawasaki Frontale last month.
The Hoops also brought Yosuke Ideguchi and Daizen Maeda from Japan.
