Martin Keown shared what he believes is keeping Tottenham from achieving success following their 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
On Match of the Day 2 (Sunday 12:17) the former Arsenal defender suggested that Spurs should stop aiming for the league title and try to win something more manageable.
He said: “I think in Spurs’ case, they do need to try and find a new target, because the dream for them is they’ve never won a trophy with that group of players.”
This comment came on the back of Mauricio Pochettino stating that Spurs’ title ambitions were already dead due to being 10 points behind Manchester City.
Keown agreed with Pochettino’s comments and shared why the title dream was dead for another season.
“Their home form at Wembley is still costing them. Is it ‘trembly wembley’ for the Tottenham fans? Something is wrong when they play, they were brilliant at White Hart Lane.”
More positively, Tottenham have only lost once in the league at their temporary home ground, and that was to Chelsea early in the season.
Spurs did suffer a surprise loss at the ground to West Ham, but that was in the League Cup, as the Hammers came find behind to win the game 3-2.
In other Tottenham news, Paul Ince has claimed that this Spurs ace is getting distracted and losing form.
