‘Kepa Arrizabalaga must return to Chelsea’ – fans react to ‘humiliation’

Chelsea fans have urged the club to recall Kepa Arrizabalaga from his season-long loan move at Bournemouth following Robert Sanchez’s latest howler.

The Blues were beaten 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday (25 January), with Sanchez being at fault for Erling Haaland’s second-half goal that put City 2-1 up as he was caught out of position.

It was Sanchez’s fifth error of the season that has led to a goal, and was one that left his teammates visibly frustrated at him on the pitch.

The 27-year-old has been publicly backed by Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, but supporters have started to lose faith in the former Brighton shot-stopper.

The Blues currently have several goalkeepers out on loan this season, one of which is Bournemouth’s Kepa.

The Spain international has been delivering strong performances this season for the Cherries, having conceded 19 goals in 16 games this season in the Premier League.

Chelsea fans want the club to gamble on Kepa Arrizabalaga again

Kepa has kept five clean sheets this season in comparison to the four that Sanchez has managed at Chelsea.

The 30-year-old had a mixed time when playing for the Blues, having conceded 173 goals throughout his 163 appearances for the Londoners.

Kepa was sent out on loan last season to Real Madrid and was once again let go for this campaign as the Cherries took him in, but now Chelsea fans want to see him return to Stamford Bridge.
