Kerry Dixon highlights main Tottenham threat ahead of Chelsea clash

By Dominic Toner

Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon believes that Tottenham forward Harry Kane is their standout player.

Spurs host London rivals Chelsea on Wednesday night as two of the Premier League title rivals clash.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking to avenge the 2-1 defeat they suffered in November at Stamford Bridge and will be confident after winning their last four games.

Visitors Chelsea will break a Premier League record for consecutive victories with a win at White Hart Lane as they have won their last 13 games.

Blues legend Dixon has highlighted the threat of Spurs forward Kane and ranks him as one of the best in the Premier League.

Dixon is Chelsea’s third highest goalscorer of all time with 193 goals for the club, only behind Frank Lampard and Bobby Tambling.

“[Kane is] arguably, one of the best centre-forwards in England,” Dixon told the Daily Star. “Even at his young age he is one of the best. I think he’s an excellent player.

“They’ve got Dele Alli who’s decent, Eriksen can turn it on on the day. They’ve got different players who can do different things but for me Harry Kane is the main one.”

Kane is currently in great form for Spurs and has scored 12 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season.

The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the best strikers in the Premier League and has scored three times in his last two games.

The England international won the league’s golden boot award last season with 25 league goals and will be hoping to eclipse that tally this campaign, but missed five matches during September and October with an ankle injury.
