Kevin Danso reveals what he really thinks about Tottenham teammates in new message

Tottenham defender Kevin Danso took to social media to tell the fans to look “onwards and upwards” after their 4-0 League Cup defeat to Liverpool on Thursday (February 7).

The 26-year-old made his Tottenham debut in the game against Liverpool but was powerless to stop Arne Slot’s side from overturning Spurs’ 1-0 lead from the first leg.

Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 34th minute before talismanic forward Mohamed Salah doubled their lead from the penalty spot just after halftime.

Fellow January Tottenham signing Antonin Kinsky took out Darwin Nunez, giving Salah the perfect opportunity to score, an incident that left many Spurs fans raging.

Dominik Szoboszlai capped off a fine performance with a goal to make it 3-0 in the 75th minute before captain Virgil van Dijk rounded off the scoring five minutes later.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett believes Van Dijk could have seen red for an incident with Richarlison earlier in the game.

The big centre-back endured a tough debut against Liverpool’s relentless attack, arguably the most challenging opponent in European football for his first appearance.

Danso took to Instagram to address the fans and commemorate his debut after the defeat to Liverpool, saying: “Yesterday marked my debut for Tottenham Hotspur in the cup, and though we fell short against a strong side, I couldn’t be prouder to have worn this shirt for the first time.

“The loss stings, but I truly believe in this team and our journey ahead. I want to thank everyone at the club, and every single fan for the support! Onwards and upwards. COYS.”

He then re-posted it to his story, simply saying: “Onwards and upwards. COYS.”

Tottenham and Liverpool are set to battle it out off the pitch too after Football Insider revealed (February 4) that both clubs are interested in a summer move for Marc Guehi.

Ange Postecoglu’s side will turn their attention to the FA Cup now they’ve been dumped out of the League Cup, traveling to Aston Villa on Sunday (February 9).
