Kevin De Bruyne sends three-word Man City message after ‘Liverpool offer’
Kevin De Bruyne has posted a new message to Man City fans as speculation swirls around his next destination this summer.
The decision was made not to hand the incredible playmaker a new deal, meaning he is now set to depart at the end of the season, and many expected him to switch to the MLS at 33 years of age.
However, Sky Sports Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio reported (7 May) that Liverpool have sent a proposal to De Bruyne about a controversial move to Anfield, with the Belgian proving that there is still life in his legs.
Despite making just 17 league starts so far this term, he has scored twice and assisted another in his last four appearances across all competitions, making a point as he goes out in style.
It has already been suggested that Man City likely regret the decision to part ways with De Bruyne, with a squad overhaul expected following a disappointing campaign under Pep Guardiola.
Kevin De Bruyne to ruin Man City legacy with Liverpool move
Taking to Instagram stories (8 May), the Belgian shared a video from the City training ground, bypassing one of his teammates before firing past the goalkeeper, with the caption: “Top bin Thursday”.
The veteran midfielder has three more Premier League matches to add to his incredible record, with Southampton, Bournemouth, and Fulham remaining, and Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final.

Man City star’s exit to open the floodgates at the Etihad Stadium
Football Insider verdict
De Bruyne could be about to trigger a number of high-profile exits at the Etihad Stadium, with a multitude of long-term players being linked with summer moves.
Bernardo Silva could bring an end to his time at Man City, Mick Brown told Football Insider, with Ederson, Mateo Kovacic, John Stones, and Jack Grealish all expected to depart ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
With a passing of the torch likely happening this summer, adding to the signings of Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, and Abdukodir Khusanov, it seems foolish to get rid of someone with such calibre.

While Guardiola could still lift silverware and finish second in the Premier League table this season, it has been an extremely frustrating campaign for the Citizens, which is why new players are expected.
De Bruyne is certainly in the twilight of his footballing career, turning 34 next month, but he has proven himself ready to help off the bench when required at important moments.
