Kevin De Bruyne: ‘This is what I’m hearing after Man City snub’
Kevin De Bruyne confirmed his imminent Man City exit last week (4 April) – ending his 10-year association with the club.
Pep Guardiola has since confirmed City decided against offering the 33-year-old, who will turn 34 before his contract is up, a new deal.
De Bruyne has won six Premier League titles at the Etihad Stadium and has also lifted the Champions League.
The Belgium international will now be weighing up offers ahead of the next step in his trophy-laden career.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has revealed what he has heard on De Bruyne’s future.
De Bruyne prefers San Diego move following Man City exit, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness revealed he has heard that De Bruyne prefers a move to the United States over a Saudi Pro League switch.
De Bruyne could follow the likes of Lionel Messi, and Luis Suarez to Major League Soccer this summer.
Wyness insisted Man City did the right thing after shipping the midfield great out by force.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “We all know what a great player he is and what a decent guy he is.
“I think it is the right time, however. Man City have got to go through that refresh that everyone’s been talking about.
“There’s no doubt that De Bruyne is a central part of their side, but he’s got to be replaced.
“The club are doing the right thing.
“It’s good for both parties. He’ll be missed, I’m sure, but good luck to him.
“From what I hear, San Diego in the MLS is his preferred option.
“The Saudi clubs also keen, and that could make him think twice. But lifestyle-wise, San Diego would be a great choice.
“These players can make decisions not necessarily for commercial reasons – I’m hearing San Diego is where he wants to go.”

Man City target Larsson will cost £50m
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Sunday (6 April) Man City will have to pay up to £50million for Hugo Larsson this summer after inadvertedly driving up his asking price.
Sources have told Football Insider that having already received £59m from City for Omar Marmoush in January, Frankfurt won’t be an easy club to deal with this summer.
Larsson’s form with the German side has alerted Guardiola’s side ahead of the off-season.
