Liverpool player ratings v Brighton: First-team star must be axed after 4/10 shocker
Goalkeeper and defenders
Simon Mignolet (Goalkeeper) – 6: Didn’t really have too much to do. Made an outstanding save with his legs to somehow deny Murray from close range. Was left with no chance from the penalty.
Georginio Wijnaldum (Centre-back) – 6: The midfielder who was playing in the back-three for Liverpool today had a quiet game and didn’t really do much.
Dejan Lovern (Centre-back) – 6: Decent defensive performance, made one or two solid tackles and interceptions.
Emre Can (Centre-back) – 7: Put the Reds ahead with a thunderous header from a corner midway through the first-half, but you would have expected him to score given how much room he was given by the Brighton defenders. Made one or two good tackles but also gave a few fouls away.
