Liverpool player ratings v Brighton: First-team star must be axed after 4/10 shocker
Midfielders
Andrew Robertson (Left wing-back) – 6: A decent performance from the wing-back, got forward a few times down the left-hand side and looked okay defensively.
Philippe Coutinho (Central midfield) – 8: The Brazil playmaker was at the heart of every Liverpool attack, a superb pass across the box for Firmino’s first goal. Made it 4-0 to the Reds with a low free-kick and delivered the cross for Lewis Dunk to divert into his own netting.
Jordan Henderson (Central midfield) – 4: Was hammered by the Liverpool fans on Twitter for his performance in midfield. Gave the ball away a few times and was muscled off the ball far too often. Was a bit unlucky with the penalty decision, where he appeared to push Shane Duffy in the back. A day to forget for the Liverpool captain, despite the scoreline.
James Milner (Central midfield) – 5: A mixed performance from the midfielder on an afternoon where Coutinho and the two strikers took the spotlight. Made a few key passes but also gave the ball away a few times.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Right wing-back) – 6: Decent performance, got forward down the right hand side a few times.
