Key games Rodrigo Muniz could miss for Fulham as Marco Silva drops new injury update
Marco Silva was clearly missing a central figure as Fulham threw away a 1-0 lead against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
With both Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez sidelined, Harry Wilson was trusted through the middle, though it was not an experiment that caused the Cherries many problems on Friday, 3 October.
Ryan Sessegnon did score the opener for the Cottagers, but after Antoine Semenyo netted a brace, scoring either side of Justin Kluivert‘s stunner, Andoni Iraola‘s side claimed a well-earned victory.
Fulham were also fortunate not to concede a penalty following an incident between Evanilson and Issa Diop inside the 18-yard box, but it was quickly swept under the rug by Simon Hooper.
Silva’s side have now fallen to 11th in the Premier League table before the weekend’s fixtures, and the manager’s problems have only been compounded by Sasa Lukic‘s early injury during the clash.
Marco Silva drops a new update on Rodrigo Muniz hopes
Muniz also missed the defeat against Aston Villa, having played the final eight minutes of the Carabao Cup win over Cambridge United before picking up a hamstring injury.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Silva said: “Rodrigo [Muniz], let’s see if we can have him back before the international break,” which starts after Man City versus Liverpool on Sunday, 9 November.
He joins Kenny Tete on the treatment table, just another setback for the Cottagers, who have won just one of their last three Premier League matches. Before that, it was just one loss in five games.
However, Silva’s latest update on the situation should provide enough hope that Fulham will only be without a centre-forward for the next few weeks, rather than needing to make transfer plans already.
Which games could Muniz miss for Fulham?
October
- 18 October: Premier League, Arsenal (H)
- 25 October: Premier League, Newcastle United (A)

*Silva is hopeful of his striker returning before the international break, but if he were to rest the player before a two-week break next month, it would also see him miss the trip to Everton.
