Kieran Maguire can’t believe news emerging from Man United dressing room
It is ‘bizarre’ for Erik ten Hag to invite Man United CEO Richard Arnold into the club’s dressing room.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Ten Hag’s decision to reintroduce a tradition once used by Sir Alex Ferguson.
According to the Daily Mail, Ten Hag has reinstated tradition at Old Trafford to invite club directors into the dressing room after every match regardless of the result.
Arnold has made multiple appearances in the dressing room, while it is reported that David Gill and Michael Edelson have also been invited by the Dutchman.
It was a tradition first introduced by Ferguson, with the aim of creating a sense of unity throughout the club between staff and players.
Maguire questioned Ten Hag’s dressing room decision, suggesting that it could completely change the environment around the club and the squad.
“I’ve always taken the view that a dressing room is sacrosanct and what happens in the dressing room stays there,” Maguire told Football Insider.
“That comes from playing sports myself at an amateur level.
“As soon as an outsider enters the dressing room the environment completely changes.
“Having said that, we are seeing more and more intrusion pre and post-match into the privacy of players and managers.

“I’m a great believer in keeping the magic, magic.
“The idea of Richard Arnold – an investment banker – being brought into the dressing room at Old Trafford is bizarre.”
