Kieran Maguire: Daniel Levy has jetted out to show what ‘Tottenham can offer’ as headline deal agreed

Daniel Levy’s presence at the Bahrain Grand Prix this month would have allowed the Tottenham chief to strengthen relations and strike alliances with sponsors.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Levy’s growing relationship within the motorsport sector.

Tottenham announced a 15-year deal with Formula 1 at the start of the month, which includes the Premier League outfit building a world-first indoor electric karting track beneath their stadium.

The agreement also entails a new driver academy and career development programme, which is set for a hard launch in the autumn.

Football Insider sources revealed on March 3 that Levy flew out to Bahrain to witness the Formula 1 season-opening Grand Prix after striking the strategic partnership.

Maguire hailed Levy as a “very skilled negotiator” and believes his visit to the Middle East will help Spurs solidify their reputation with F1.

Following Tottenham’s successful negotiations with Formula 1 regarding their partnership and karting competition which will take place under Tottenham’s stadium, it makes sense for Daniel Levy to start networking with people involved in the F1 sector,” Maguire told Football Insider.

In Bahrain, Levy would have been striking alliances and ensuring everybody knows what Spurs can offer.

It’s also a chance to make sure that all parties can maximise value, revenues and profit from their deal.

He is a very skilled negotiator, and that is why Spurs have made more profit in the history of the Premier League than any other club.
