Kieran Maguire drops ‘nuclear’ Man City punishment verdict & ‘Pep managing in League One’
Pep Guardiola will not quit Man City even if the club are relegated to League One as a result of their FFP charges.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the chances of Guardiola leaving if City are handed a ‘nuclear’ punishment for their FFP breaches.
City await the verdict of their 115 Financial Fair Play breaches after being charged by the Premier League back in February.

As reported by the Daily Mail, City could face relegation if they are found guilty of the breaches when their case is heard by an independent commission.
As revealed by Football Insider, City have agreed a trial date with the Premier League, with the case set to be concluded before the 2025/26 season.
Guardiola’s contract with City is set to expire in that same summer.
However, Maguire believes Guardiola will welcome the challenge of managing in lower divisions if City are relegated as a punishment.
“I don’t think the charges will necessarily sway his opinion,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“As a coach, he is pretty much unparalleled in football.“
“He doesn’t need the money, for him it is about personal challenges and I expect that will be more a driving force for him.

“He has never managed in League One, so that will be a new challenge for him should City face a nuclear-style punishment in terms of being relegated down a division or two.
“But of course, they are innocent until proven otherwise in regards to their financial charges.“
