Kieran Maguire: Liverpool are about to smash club record – announcement soon

Liverpool will reveal record club revenue of over £600million for the 2022/23 season when their updated finances are published soon.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Liverpool will want to close the revenue gap to rivals Manchester United and Manchester City.

The Reds are expected to publish their financial report for the 2022/23 season in the coming weeks after United and City revealed their latest accounts in November.

Liverpool revealed a club-record turnover of £594million in their 2021/22 accounts after a season that saw them reach the Champions League final.

However, they still trail behind both Manchester clubs with City revealing revenue of £712million while United follows closely behind with £648million in 2022/23.

Maguire has backed Liverpool to reach a new milestone of £600million revenue in their latest accounts following another successful season.

I expect Liverpool to break through the £600million revenue barrier for the first time,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

It was a good season for them.

They didn’t match the success of their previous Champions League campaign but still reached the knockout phases.

Matchday income will also be slightly increased.

Commercial income is heading in a positive direction but it won’t have been as successful as 2022 in all probability because that was the year they reached the Champions League final.

But I still think that £600million is an achievable benchmark to aim for.

It was £594million in 2022 and I believe there was a slight increase in ticket prices in 2023 as well. So it’s a huge figure”.

Continuing to grow revenue is important in order to be competitive with the two Manchester clubs, who they see as both local and national rivals.
