Kieran Maguire reveals Glazer approach to Man United takeover – ‘What I have seen…’

The Glazers ‘don’t care’ about ruining the 2023/24 season for Man United if it means increasing their financial gains from a takeover.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the Glazers’ ‘nickel and dime’ approach to the takeover saga.

It has been seven months since the Glazers announced in November that they were open to ‘strategic alternatives’ at Man United.

The Red Devils are now on the verge of a full sale with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim going head-to-head in a takeover race.

But with the start of the 2023/24 season fast approaching and the takeover process still far from over, it will have a major impact on United’s summer business.

Maguire believes that the Glazers only care about trying to extract the maximum fee for the club.

The Glazers are hustlers – they have no interest in the welfare of Man United during this takeover process,” Maguire told Football Insider.

They have no interest in the fans either.

What I have seen from them since their initial announcement that they were willing to consider investment is a constant nickel and diming.

They are trying to extract more and more from potential buyers at every opportunity.

Man United

They don’t care about the negative impact this could have on Man United’s 2023/24 season.

Their sole interest is maximising their financial return – the interests of players, managers and fans is far below that of their bank balance.
