Kieran Maguire shares £25m West Ham reveal as announcement made
West Ham earn an average of £25million more each season from matchday revenue than other Premier League clubs outside the ‘Big Six’.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the financial benefits that the Hammers gain from their move to the London Stadium.
West Ham published their 2022/23 financial report last week, revealing that the club made an overall turnover of £236million with a net loss of £18million before tax.

The new documents also revealed that the Londoners made £41million from matchday revenue, matching the figures recorded in 2021/22.
The London Stadium boasts a capacity of 62,500 on matchdays for West Ham, although the club have appealed to open up the remaining 5,500 seats.
Maguire believes West Ham can use the additional cash to invest further into their squad and apply pressure on clubs in the ‘Big Six’.
“West Ham’s matchday revenue of £41million reflects that the club has the biggest ground and one of the biggest attendances outside of the big six,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“They also played plenty of additional matches in Europe last season and therefore they were able to generate substantially more than other clubs in the Premier League.
“They averaged £25million more than other clubs in the so-called ‘other 14’.

“That money can be put forward into the squad spend in terms of both wages and transfer fees and can hugely assist West Ham as they try to get a top six or top seven finish.“
“I imagine that will be their objective following their move to the new stadium and the financial benefits that that brings.“
