Kieran Maguire shares £84m+ Liverpool reveal as Everton news emerges

The Bramley Moore Dock project is vital for Everton as arch-rivals Liverpool currently earn more than five times their matchday income per seasonand will soon be generating more than £84million more.

That is the opinion of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the cultural and financial importance of Everton’s new stadium.

The Toffees released an official statement from interim CEO Colin Chong on June 28, who is also the Chief Stadium Development Officer for the construction of Bramley Moore Dock.

Chong confirmed that the stadium’s construction is on track despite contrasting reports from outlets, with the new venue set to be available for use during the 2024/25 season.

The stadium is set to have a capacity of 52,888, a huge increase on Goodison Park’s 39,572.

Maguire believes the new stadium will provide huge financial benefits, with Everton trailing considerably behind local rivals Liverpool in terms of matchday revenue.

There is no doubt that Goodison Park is no longer big enough to meet the demand from Everton fans to see the club that they love,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

The Bramley Moore Dock project is symbolic, pragmatic and aspirational.

Everton are aware of the charm that comes with having Goodison, but it only generates £16million per season in matchday income.

That is a small fraction of what larger clubs earn in matchday income, including local neighbours Liverpool.

Liverpool earned £86million in 2021/22 and are on track to reach £100million with the expansion of Anfield.
