Kieran Maguire slaughters ‘parasitical’ Glazers after new Man United finance reveal

The Glazer family have ‘no style and no substance’ after billing Man United £500,000 for two flights to Wembley.

That is the opinion of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the excessive spending from United’s American owners.

As reported by The Athletic, Avram Glazer has charged Man United £500,000 in order to attend two cup finals at Wembley this season.

The United co-owner flew in via private jet in February to watch United’s Carabao Cup triumph over Newcastle United and returned in May for the women’s FA Cup final.

It is added that the Glazer’s visits to the Qatar World Cup over the winter were also put down as a business expense, adding to the current debt at the club which already stands at £535million.

Maguire believes Avram’s actions follow the ‘parasitical’ behaviour shown by the Glazers during their ownership of the Red Devils.

The Glazer family have always adopted a parasitical approach to football ownership,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

“It manifests itself in the fact that Avram Glazer is more than happy to watch Man United play at Wembley for the glamorous matches.

Yet he shows very little interest in attending matches on a regular basis.

The Glazers have made so much money from Man United that the £500,000 that has been spent on arranging flights just shows that they are a family of no style and no substance.

The rates are well in excess of standard market rates.
