Kieran Maguire suggests Glazer stance on quitting Man United after Ratcliffe takeover
The Glazers are not looking to lose their majority stake in Man United despite all six siblings selling shares to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
That is the opinion of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that all six Glazer siblings made over £100million from Ratcliffe’s investment.
The Red Devils announced on Christmas Eve that a minority takeover deal had been completed with British billionaire Ratcliffe which handed his company sporting control at Old Trafford.

As part of the deal, all six Glazer siblings – Kevin, Bryan, Joel, Darcie, Edward and Avram – have decided to sell a portion of their shares.
It comes after reports that the siblings disagreed over the sale with Joel and Avram, who own the largest stake, supposedly wanting to retain control of the club.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now entitled to be offered all future shares sold by the Glazer siblings before other parties, allowing him to increase his stake in the club if the Glazers do decide to put more on the market.
However, Maguire believes the Glazers are not looking for the exit door at United and will continue to own a majority stake while shifting all sporting responsibility onto Ratcliffe.
“I don’t think the Glazers are looking for a permanent exit,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“I think a collective decision was made within the family that they want to appear united, even though they have no love for United.
“They still have majority control over the football club as a whole, even though they have transferred the football operations to Ratcliffe’s organisation.
“Individually, they have made in excess of £100million each which is more than enough for anybody to live on.
“If Jim Ratcliffe does transform Manchester United into a more successful business they get the upside of an increase in the value of the club and share price.

“If it doesn’t work out, they’ve got a get-out-of-jail-free card by passing over sporting control.
“So I think the Glazers have a fantastic deal for themselves but from day one, it’s always been about self rather than side.”
