Kieran Maguire tips Glazers to sanction £100m+ Man United payout after ‘gigantic blow’
The Glazers will likely spend a “nine-figure” sum on a revamp at Man United home stadium Old Trafford.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about plans to upgrade the club’s ageing facilities.
The Daily Mail reported on 17 October that United have launched a search for architects as they look to bring Old Trafford up to scratch.

United spent £20m on infrastructure improvements over the summer, both at Old Trafford and the Carrington training complex.
Maguire explains that United had hoped to use finances from Project Big Picture and the European Super Lead to fund the renovations.
But now those two options are off the table, the Glazers have no option other than to dig deep, explain the spreadsheet wiz.
“I think they have to be looking at nine figures,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“I think anything less than that would be papering over the cracks, to be frank.
“The Glazers were hoping that Project Big Picture and Super League would have allowed them to suckle on the teat of an infrastructure fund.
“If you look at both of those proposals, there was money set aside for infrastructure.
“They were working on those projects for a number of years and hoped the finances would come from there. That was a gigantic blow.

“Now, it looks like that neither of those options are viable in the short term, though Super League will come back in some form at some point.
“They now realise they have to spend and spend big. Things have really deteriorated at Old Trafford.“
