Kieran Maguire verdict on Man United talks to terminate star’s £350,000-a-week deal

The termination of Jadon Sancho’s contract at Man United represents the club’s poor leadership under the Glazer family.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Red Devils need a swift change in leadership to remove the Glazers from making key decisions.

As reported by Sky Sports, United have held talks to consider terminating Sancho’s contract if a new club cannot be found for him in January.

Man United, Jadon Sancho

The 23-year-old has not played for United in months after falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman has made it clear that Sancho will remain out of the picture at Old Trafford until he makes a formal apology to him and his staff.

Sancho signed a five-year contract with United when he joined the club in 2021, and the club will have to pay a significant fee to terminate the deal ahead of time.

As reported by The Mirror, Sancho is currently earning £350,000 per week making him one of the club’s top earners.

If Manchester United do cancel Jaden Sancho’s contract it further indicates that the club lacks clear leadership,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

They have suffered from poor decision-making and they operate in a reactive rather than responsive manner to issues as they arrive.

That they are now considering terminating the contract of one of their highest-paid players indicates that the Glazers and their Glazernomics are not working.

“There is a lack of cohesive strategy and decision-making at the club and that has to change.
