Kieran Tierney: Expert makes 'huge' Arsenal claim after injury reveal
Kevin Campbell has claimed “there is huge pressure” on the left-back position at Arsenal following Kieran Tierney’s injury.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Gunners and Everton striker urged Mikel Arteta to play Cedric Soares, 30, in the role in future matches.
As revealed by this site on 5 April, Tierney is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury while on international duty.
Nuno Tavares stood in for the Scotland international against Crystal Palace but struggled in a 3-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.
The ex-Benfica defender was then dropped for the visit of Brighton on Saturday, with Granit Xhaka moving to left-back as the Gunners slipped to another defeat.
When asked for his assessment of Arsenal’s left-back situation, Campbell told Football Insider’s Dylan Childs: “There’s huge pressure on Tavares now.

“Tomiyasu should be coming back pretty soon so that’s good news. Cedric could play left-back when he does come back. Saka can also play at left-back so there is options.
“I just think Tavares’ confidence has been dented by what happened at Forest and Palace. Arsenal have a need to perform now. If players are not up to it you cannot risk it.
“You have to make adjustments. Ben White could even play at right-back with Cedric going to left-back and Rob Holding coming in. That is what I would have done. We are in desperate need of bodies back there.”
