Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: Everton star sends message to Liverpool fans on social media after jab

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has continued to establish himself as a fan favourite at Everton by backing up his jab at Liverpool fans in a social media post made on Saturday.

The midfielder joined the Toffees from Chelsea last summer and has been an excellent addition to David Moyes’ team.

The 27-year-old only managed to make 13 Premier League appearances last season, but has scored six goals and provided three assists since making the switch.

In December, Dewsbury-Hall claimed that there are probably more Everton fans in Liverpool than there are fans of the Reds.

The Everton midfielder’s comments went down extremely well with one side of Merseyside, and predictably, not so well with the other.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sends new social media message

Football Insider exclusively revealed in February that Everton will resist any attempt to sign Dewsbury-Hall this summer, despite reported interest from Tottenham.

With the midfielder under contract until 2030, there is little pressure at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Particularly given how happy the 27-year-old appears to be. Dewsbury-Hall has made a special connection with the Everton fans already, and is even pointing jabs at Liverpool like a true Toffee.

Speaking to Toffee TV in December, the Englishman said: “I’ve had a couple of walks around Liverpool and there’s so many fans. I feel like there’s way more Everton fans in Liverpool.”

Those comments, obviously, went down poorly with fans of the Reds, but he backed up his comments in a new social media post on Saturday.

“Couple hungry people on here,” he wrote with a laughing emoji. “I wasn’t lying though.”

Dewsbury-Hall making a name for himself at Everton

After establishing himself as a quality midfielder during his time at Leicester City, Dewsbury-Hall took a personal step backwards when he joined Chelsea.

The midfielder was coming off the back of a Championship season in which he’d scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists from midfield, but would be largely reduced to appearances off the bench at Stamford Bridge.

The 27-year-old’s money would have been good, but he risked fading into the background. That is the least of his worries at Everton.

Dewsbury-Hall has looked like a player reborn under Moyes, and he may just lead the Toffees to history this season if they can complete a stunning run for European football.
