Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sends message to Chelsea fans after they destroy him

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall hit back at his critics with his match-winning performance in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Copenhagen in the Conference League.

Chelsea secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 3-1 aggregate win, and Dewsbury-Hall’s goal was the decisive moment of the game.

Despite Chelsea fans wanting Dewsbury-Hall to be sold after a subpar display in the first leg, the midfielder stepped up to score the only goal, earning praise for his resilience and proving his worth in a crucial European clash.

Despite the win, Enzo Maresca’s decision to substitute Josh Acheampong at half-time sparked backlash from pundits.

However, Maresca often rotates in European fixtures and his decision to give Dewsbury-Hall another opportunity to start despite his earlier struggles showed his faith in the player, with the Englishman repaying that trust with a vital contribution.

Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson show support as Dewsbury-Hall’s goal secures Chelsea progress

Following his match-winning goal, Dewsbury-Hall shared a simple messageto say “Quart8rs” accompanied by a photo of his celebration.

His teammates were quick to show their appreciation, with Cole Palmer commenting in support, while Tosin Adarabioyo also shared his admiration with the message, “My boy!”

Other Chelsea players, including Christopher Nkunku and the injured Nicolas Jackson, showed their solidarity by liking the post.

Jackson updated Chelsea fans on his recovery earlier in the week. He has been sidelined for over a month, with Maresca having deployed Pedro Neto in a centre-forward role during his absence.

As for Dewsbury-Hall, the midfielder has spent much of the season on the periphery, with just 179 minutes of Premier League action to his name. His appearances have mostly come in the Conference League or as a substitute in league matches.

During the January transfer window, former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Chelsea might lower their asking price for Dewsbury-Hall after failing to secure a sale.

Clubs such as West Ham and Everton had been linked with a move with Dewsbury-Hall, but no deal materialised. While Everton opted for Carlos Alcaraz instead, West Ham were only interested in a loan deal.

It remains to be seen whether these clubs will reignite their interest in the summer, particularly if Chelsea are keen on recouping something close to the £30 million they paid for him. For now, Dewsbury-Hall will continue to fight for a more prominent role in Maresca’s team.
