Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that captain Jordan Henderson has been ruled out of their Boxing Day clash against Swansea, and reportedly fears that the talisman may miss most of the Reds’ winter schedule.
Henderson required lengthy treatment during Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal on Friday, and was forced from the field after just 12 minutes in the 3-3 draw.
The skipper was replaced by James Milner, who took the captain’s armband, and may be set to do so again over the festive period with Henderson looking unlikely to make a quick return.
Speaking after the Arsenal game, as quoted by Sky Sports, Klopp said: “The problem is that Hendo will not feature for sure, he is out.”
It is now reported that Klopp is worried Henderson will miss out on most of their Christmas fixture list, with the Reds hosting Leicester four days after the Swansea clash, and travelling to Burnley on New Year’s Day.
Henderson has been a mainstay for Klopp this season, making 16 Premier League appearances in midfield.
In other Liverpool news, this Reds defender and loyal servant is set for a January exit from the club.
