Kluivert and Leeds star Rodon react as Bournemouth confirm major transfer news

Justin Kluivert and Joe Rodon have both reacted after Bournemouth officially announced completion of a key piece of transfer business.

The Cherries impressed in the Premier League in the 2024/25 with a ninth-place finish, although that has inevitably attracted attention in some of their players.

Liverpool are expected to complete the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, with the Hungarian having been a key figure for Andoni Iraola’s side this season.

While that deal has not yet been confirmed to have been done, the Cherries have already secured a replacement for the Hungarian.

Adrien Truffert transfer completed

On Monday (16 June), Bournemouth confirmed they have completed the signing of Adrien Truffert from French side Rennes.

The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2029/30 season.

Truffert will now fill the void that looks set to be left by Kerkez in the left-back role going forward, having previously spent his entire senior career with Rennes.

After Bournemouth took to Instagram to officially announce the signing of Truffert, one player to react was Kluivert, with the Cherries attacker among those to like that post.

Meanwhile, Leeds United centre-back Rodon, who previously played with Truffert while on loan at Rennes during the 2022/23 season, also did the same.

The left-back is now the first signing of what look as though it could be a busy window at Bournemouth, in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

Bournemouth facing more departures

Football Insider Verdict

Dean Huijsen has already left for Real Madrid this summer, and while Kerkez’s switch to Liverpool may also be close, there is likely to be plenty more exits as well.

Bournemouth will be looking to keep Kluivert amid interest from Bayer Leverkusen, with the attacker having stood out at times last season.

Meanwhile, centre-back Illya Zabarnyi is being linked with PSG, and so there are plenty of key figures the Cherries are going to have to replace if they want to do as well as they have this season.

Truffert is the first to have taken on that challenge, and it will be intriguing to see how he copes with the pressure of stepping into such a role after the success Kerkez has enjoyed there.
