‘Kobbie Mainoo exit is not outrageous’ – Man United fans react as ‘huge’ clearout begins

Man United are undergoing one of the worst seasons in the history of the football club, and they are now set to make drastic changes to avoid repeating that next season.

Ruben Amorim has been unable to turn things around since he joined United, and that has led to question marks over whether he’s the right man for the job.

However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has publicly backed him as the person to guide United out of this situation, even though they are 13th in the Premier League table.

Ratcliffe is also expected to try and financially back Amorim during the summer, but due to United’s difficult financial situation, there will have to be some sales taking place.

A mass exodus is expected to take place during the summer transfer window as Amorim has created his own ‘bomb squad’ of players he no longer wants at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim has six players he wants to sell

According to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, United have planned the departures of Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Kobbie Mainoo this summer.

On top of that, Marcus Rashford and Antony are expected to be sold in a bid to give the club even more financial flexibility for the summer transfer window.

Amorim is looking to sign several players before next season begins that are capable of playing his formation, with Jeremie Frimpong emerging as an early option.

Man United fans are onboard with Kobbie Mainoo exit

The decision to cut the squad in such a drastic manner is a bold decision by United given how many experienced players will be departing Old Trafford if they have the opportunity to do so.

However, it’s something that fans are onboard with as they believe that “anybody is sellable” within the current squad.
