Koeman delivers Everton transfer update that will excite fans
By Harvey Byrne
Manager Ronald Koeman has shared that he is still hoping to add more quality players to his Everton side this window.
The Toffees have already secured the signings of Aemola Lookman and Morgan Schneiderlin this window for a combined £27.5million.
However, Koeman is still looking for further additions to add to his side and shared in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter page that he was still scouring the market.
RK: "I hope for more players coming in. We are working hard to make the team stronger. But we are looking for quality, not just numbers."

The news will excite fans as Koeman specifically mentioned that the club are looking for “quality” players rather than squad fillers.
The Toffees fan base may have settled with the two aforementioned signings due to the difficulty of the winter market.

However, with the club currently sat in seventh place Koeman will now be looking to push the club further after leaving Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer.
The Dutch manager brought in six players during the previous window and while some haven’t gone as first hoped, he has brought in quality in Idrissa Gueye to the side.
Football Insider verdict:
Koeman will look at his current Everton side and see a number of quality players for specific positions. However, the goalkeeper, centre defence, centre midfield and backup striker positions are still far too weak for a club with the aspirations of the Toffees. The likes of Maarten Stekelenburg, Phil Jagielka and Gareth Barry are still making regular appearances and they just aren’t good enough for where the side want to be anymore. Therefore, Koeman must continue to look at the market before he can be happy with his team. But given the January prices, it won’t be unusual if he waits until the summer to add further.
