Kyle Lafferty embroiled in Twitter spat with TV presenter over spell at Rangers

Former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty has found himself embroiled in a Twitter spat with former Sky Sports presenter David Tanner after Tanner accused him of “causing bother” at Ibrox before he left the club.
Tanner had been on his personal Twitter account discussing the possibility of Steven Naismith rejoining the Ibrox club when a Rangers fan said he wouldn’t welcome Naismith back.
The former Sky pundit then claimed Lafferty was “causing bother” before Charles Green bought the club in 2012 forcing Lafferty to intervene and take aim at Tanner on his personal Twitter account.

Naismith is an unpopular figure among Rangers fans for the manner in which he left the Ibrox giants in 2012 – using TUPE legislation to object to his contract being transferred to Green’s Newco – causing the Gers to miss out on millions of pounds in a potential transfer fee.
The former Everton striker is expected to leave Norwich this month with Light Blues fans split over whether they should offer the 31-year-old the possibility of an Ibrox return.
Lafftery left Rangers to join Swiss side FC Sion in 2012 in similar circumstances as Naismith and later raised a constructive dismissal claim against the Gers.
Lafferty has since returned to Scottish football with Hearts while Naismith languishes in the reserves at Norwich City.
