Kyle Walker posts Twitter message after playing against Tottenham

Right-back star Kyle Walker has told that it was strange to play against old club Tottenham for Manchester City in a friendly clash between the two Premier League sides.

Spurs took on their Premier League rivals in Nashville with the two touring the United States this summer.

It presented an opportunity for Walker to face his old team just 16 days after departing north London and he was named in the starting line-up in Pep Guardiola’s side.

The match ended in a 3-0 win for Manchester City and following the encounter Walker posted on his personal Twitter account that it was great to see everyone again, while being strange alongside a picture of himself and Mauricio Pochettino.

Walker spent eight years at Tottenham between 2009 and 2017 after completing a £5million deal alongside Kyle Naughton from Sheffield United.

He ended up playing 229 times in total for the club and was a key part of the highly impressive Spurs team of recent years.

However, cash-rich Manchester City enticed him in a move a move back to the north of England in a deal worth an initial £45million, which is to rise to £50million with add-ons.

Tottenham will face Walker and Manchester City again on December 16 at the Etihad Stadium.
